How To Find Us
Our guesthouse is in a tree-lined road just behind Torre Abbey and The Riviera Conference Centre. A short 8 minute downhill walk through the abbey grounds will take you down to Torre Abbey Sands. Follow the promenade and you will reach the harbour with it’s restaurants, bars and shops.Tip – Use Road Name (Falkland Rd), our postcode is shared with Bath Lane which has very narrow access.
From M5 & A380 – Follow signs for Torquay. When you see Halfords on your right, move into the right hand lane. Go through the traffic lights into Avenue Road and drive straight across the first traffic lights. At the second set take a sharp left into Falkland Road. The Glendower is the first major building on the left (approx. 100m)
From Paignton – Proceed along the seafront in the direction of Torquay. When you see the Grand Hotel move into the left hand lane and turn left towards the railway station. Drive past the railway station and around the corner you have a set of traffic lights. Keep in the right hand lane and drive diagonally across into Falkland Road. We are the first major building on the left.
Parking
We have several parking spots in front of our building and to the side. If you park at the side we do request that you park carefully, to either the right or the left hand side ( i.e not in the middle) and as close to our gate/ corner of the building.Local Transport
Torquay has two train stations Torre and Torquay, conveniently we are close to both, but Torquay is less than a five minute uphill walk. If you have luggage or need a bit of assistance we can arrange beforehand to pick you up from the station, or just give us a call when you arrive for directions up to our guesthouse.
35A/ 35C Local bus with circular route. Nearest bus stop heading towards the harbour is about 150 metres up our road – look for 35A Harbourside. The 35C will drop you on the other side of Falkland Road by the Abbey Court Hotel. The entire route takes in St Marychurch, Babbacombe, The Willows, Chelston & Torbay Hospital
12 – nearest stop opp The Grand Hotel at the bottom of King’s Drive. For Newton Abbot, Paignton, Brixham
22- nearest stop Lucius Street – For Dawlish Warren, Teignmouth, St Marychurch, Babbacombe, Paignton
Also Gold Bus, Open Top Bus, Land Train (seasonal)
Harbourside – You can book a ticket for Western Lady Ferry to Brixham, also look for Paignton Pleasure Cruises and Ferries. Fishing trips, Wildlife spotting, Parties and Events can be arranged.
